Suggestions that Christchurch City Council's dog management regulations need changes

Suggestions that Christchurch City Council's dog management regulations need changes

Councillors are hearing from the Dogwatch Sanctuary Trust.

They want registration fees waived for rescues in temporary care, and all dogs adopted from the council shelter, to be de-sexed.

Fundraising Manager, Ameila Ryman says they'd love to see the council supporting the work that rescue shelters do, by waiving their registration fees.

She says they face huge costs from vet bills, dog food and staff wages, so more this financial support would be appreciated.
