    The serious crash unit's looking into a five-vehicle crash near Hinds, in Canterbury, that left five people in hospital


    Three helicopters were needed, to transport patients from the scene on State Highway 1, after 3 yesterday afternoon.

    Six patients were assessed at the scene - three were flown to Christchurch Hospital, one in a critical condition.
