Christmas is coming early for some Kiwis, with Pharmac confirming five new approved treatments for conditions including cancer - from December

They include injectable treatments for multiple sclerosis, some breast and lung cancer, and eye conditions - thanks to a multi-product agreement with supplier Roche.

Pharmac's Adrienne Martin says the treatments will save up to 7500 infusion hours in the first year, increasing to 12,800 hours by the fifth.

She says this will improve access, and ease pressure on hospitals.
