    Police in Hamilton have intercepted a 29-year-old woman who allegedly tried to steal more than 1700 dollars worth of groceries this morning


    The offender had already driven-off by the time Police arrived - after verbally abusing staff trying to prevent the theft.

    Police tracked down her car which was full of the groceries at a Pukete address - and found the woman in the house.

    She''ll appear in court in early January charged with shoplifting.
