    Veteran centre Dane Pineau is retiring after the Breakers basketball season came to a limp end with a 14-point loss to the Illawarra Hawks in Auckland last night


    Pineau returned from a meniscus tear to make his 165th NBL appearance...and bows out because he doesn't want to deprive younger players of a roster spot.



    Breakers import Matt Mooney sat out the second half against the Hawks after an angry confrontation with coach Petteri Koponen .
