The Government is cracking down on social media influencers who are trying to entice their followers to online casinos

The Government is cracking down on social media influencers who are trying to entice their followers to online casinos

The Department of Internal Affairs has ordered four top influencers to stop immediately or they'll face prosecution.

It has also confirmed it's monitoring another 13 accounts that it hasn't sent letters to.

Maori health organisation Hapai Te Hauora's Jason Alexander says the majority of accounts are Maori influencers.

He says it's a deliberate strategy to target Maori audiences and shows a lack of care for whanau wellbeing.
