Dakota Johnson loves to sip on a martini while she trims her own hair

The 36-year-old star has revealed her signature bangs take a lot of maintenance, and so she "always" brings a pair of scissors with her when she's travelling

She told Vogue Germany: "I've had bangs since I was a kid. I cut them myself when I was about four, and I absolutely loved them.

"I've had them my whole life, except for when I was about 10 to 14. I just feel like myself with bangs.

"Would I be happy not to have to trim them all the time? 100 percent. But I also always travel with scissors, and I love to drink a martini while trimming my own bangs."

The Materialists actress admitted while it doesn't happen "every time", the combination of booze and a haircut has gone wrong in the past.

Dakota also opened up about her haircare process, explaining that she goes for a more natural look when she's not on set.

She said: "I don't use any styling products and let my hair air dry.

"Right now, it's still a little damp, but I don't do anything to it. When I'm filming, it's different, of course."

If she's working, she enlists the help of hairstylists Mark Townsend or George Northwood.

She added: "They take really good care of my hair. It's super long, but my hair and nails grow fast.

"I think it just has to do with what you do internally. I eat very healthy, drink lots of water, and don't do too much to my hair."

Meanwhile, Dakota previously admitted she is "very emotionally attached" to her famous locks, and she doesn't ever plan to change up her style.

She told Etalk: "I'm, like, obviously physically attached to my hair, but I'm very emotionally attached to it, and I should probably change things up, but I don't think I will."
