Authorities are making legal moves to confiscate the Mongrel Mob's gang pad in Southland's Mataura

Open Justice, reports it was the scene of several prolonged and tortuous beatings between January and November 2022.

Crown lawyers have applied for a forfeiture order covering the gang headquarters and a next-door section in Albion Street, with a combined rateable value of 347-thousand dollars.

The violence related to an internal gang feud, which prompted a spree of violent crimes, and resulted in six gang members being jailed.
