Anne-Marie thinks she was a "psycho girlfriend" in her previous relationships

The 35-year-old pop star - who has a 23-month-old daughter and nine-month-old son with her husband, rapper Slowthai - admitted she used to snoop on past partner's phones for signs of infidelity.

Speaking to Paloma Faith on the Mad, Sad and Bad podcast, she said: "I think in all my previous relationships, I have been a psycho girlfriend."

She added: "I was just constantly looking through their phones, and like waiting to find something.

"Just to make sure I wasn't being mugged off, but then I'd always find something."

The Don't Play hitmaker - who "had this terrible urge to not be mugged off in relationships" - insisted how a woman's own intuition affects how they react in such situations.

She added: "It depends on how the woman feels about herself whether they believe the lie or not in a relationship...

"I'm feeling insecure, and someone's lied to me and I've believed them because I wanted to be with them."

Meanwhile, Anne-Marie - who has been happily married to Slowthai, real name Tyron Frampton, since July 2022 - also admitted she has "never had a solid group of friends" in her life.

She said: "I've had one good friend, and then they like leave... I don't have a constant friendship with anyone, but I love people."

Anne-Marie opened up on her mental health struggles, revealing she has "been through different types of depression" in her life.

She explained: "Depression makes me shut down... it makes me just go numb, and I didn't know what it was actually, I just thought I was coping."

However, the singer noted that at this stage in her life, she has moved on from feeling "angry", and prefers to focus on the positive.

She added: "I don't really get angry anymore, I can't be bothered, it's too much, it's too consuming."
