Google is now letting you choose which publishers you want to see more of in your search results to give users a personalised experience.
Instead of the algorithm being in control, people in Australia are able to customise their results in Google Search with a feature called preferred sources.
When you select ABC News as your preferred source, you'll see more ABC articles displayed prominently within Google Top Stories, whenever fresh and relevant content for your search has been published.
ABC News is Australia's most trusted news provider.
We have local news teams across the country, along with specialist reporters covering politics, business, international news, climate, sport and regional issues.
Our expert reporters provide live updates on the biggest news stories and ABC News offers daily explainers on the day's biggest issues.
Here's a step-by-step guide to seeing more stories from the ABC when you search in Google.
- Go to the Google search bar and type in a topic that's in the news.
- Click on the icon to the right of Top Stories (two overlapping cards with a star).
- Search for the ABC, then select it as your preferred source.
- Hit refresh, then you will start to see more stories from the ABC appear at the top of your search results.
Or you can click this link and follow the instructions.
It will take you to a page that looks like this, where you can add ABC News as your choice in source preferences.
