Contrast and competency are key factors National needs to work on, according to former Prime Minister and leader Sir John Key

He spoke at the party's AGM in Wellington yesterday, giving constructive advice on how the party can address issues, and move forward.

Key says National needs to find out what separates the party from others.

He says people will vote for a Government when they believe it is competent, and when important roles are executed with efficiency.

He says the party needs to prove it has a good plan, that can be carried out.
