Martha Stewart has "cancelled" her Thanksgiving plans

The 82-year-old TV star has already cancelled her plans to host a dinner party after "somebody got sick"

During an appearance on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show', Martha shared: "I gave up Thanksgiving. I cancelled. Nine guests cancelled because somebody got sick. So ... I called up my chef friend and I said, 'We're not doing Thanksgiving.'"

Despite this, Martha has already prepared various Thanksgiving-style meals over recent weeks.

The writer - who actually gave Kelly some cooking tips - said: "I've also cooked 14 turkeys already for my TV show, and I still have to [cook] one more turkey on the 'Today' show. So forget it."

Meanwhile, Martha previously encouraged other women to "challenge" themselves.

The TV star appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and Martha wants other women of a similar age to adopt the same "fearless" approach to life.

She wrote on Instagram: "I am so thrilled to be on the cover of the @SI_Swimsuit issue! My motto has always been: "when you're through changing, you're through," so I thought, why not be up for this opportunity of a lifetime? I hope this cover inspires you to challenge yourself to try new things, no matter what stage of life you are in. Changing, evolving, and being fearless - those are all very good things, indeed. (sic)"

Martha also insisted that she doesn't really worry about ageing.

She told Sports Illustrated: "I don't think about age, ever.

"I have friends who are 90, and I have friends who are 20, and that is a very good way to look at life because age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success."
