    Perrie Edwards has given birth to her second child

    The former Little Mix singer took to Instagram on Saturday (17.01.26) to reveal that she had welcomed a daughter named Alanis Valentine with her footballer fiance Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.


    Perrie, 32, posted a black and white photo on the social media platform that shows her, Alex and their four-year-old son Axel all placing a caring hand on the newborn.

    The image was accompanied by the caption "Alanis Valentine" and a heart emoji.

    Perrie's Little mix bandmates Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock were among those congratulating the couple on the happy news.

    Jade wrote: "Love you and so happy for you all."

    Leigh-Anne penned: "Just the best news! Love you all."

    The birth of her second child comes after Perrie revealed last year that she had suffered two miscarriages.

    The If He Wanted to He Would singer told Paul C Brunson's We Need to Talk podcast: "I was rehearsing for the last Little Mix tour, and I thought, 'I don't feel good'. Every symptom under the sun. I was like, 'I think I'm pregnant.'"

    Perrie recalled how a doctor informed her and Alex of the devastating news when she went for a scan five months into the pregnancy.

    She said: "We went for what was a 20-week scan, but we were actually 22 weeks, and that was just the worst day of my life. Like, horrendous.

    "I just knew something was wrong in the scan. I've never experienced an out-of-body experience where everything goes in slow motion."

    The star continued: "So then I remember sobbing, Alex was injured at the time and couldn't really drive.

    "He was struggling to drive, but I couldn't see straight. I was just distraught. We basically lost the baby at, like, 24 weeks."

    Perrie also explained how she had had a miscarriage with her first-ever pregnancy, prior to Axel's birth.

    The Tears hitmaker explained that she and Alex decided to keep her second pregnancy a secret from her friends and family until she was sure "everything was good".

    Perrie told Glamour magazine: "For me, with this pregnancy, I hadn't even told majority of my family or friends yet because of what we went through in the past.

    "We just wanted to make sure we'd had all the scans, and that everything was good, instead of having to go through everything again. What made it worse was having to tell everyone the updates.

    "That was one of the hardest parts. It's not your information to know until it's ready for that person to want to share that, whether it's your friend, your family, or someone in the industry."
