Bad Bunny insisted the only thing "more powerful than hate is love" after winning a Grammy Award

The 31-year-old star received a standing ovation inside the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday (01.02.26), after making his acceptance speech for the Best Musica Urbana Album Grammy.

The rapper - who received the award for his Debí Tirar Mas Fotos album - told the crowd: "Before I say thanks to God, I'm gonna say ICE out.

"We're not savage, we're not animals, we're not aliens - we are humans, and we are Americans."

The statement prompted applause from the crowd inside the arena.

Bad Bunny - who was born and raised in Puerto Rico - continued: "I wanna say to the people: I know it's tough not to hate these days, and I was thinking sometimes we get contaminado. I don't know how to say that in English."

Contaminado translates to contaminated in English. Bad Bunny - whose real name is Benito Ocasio - then stressed that "the only thing that is more powerful than hate is love".

He added: "We have to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don't hate them. We love our people, we love our family, and that's the way to do it - with love. Don't forget that, please.

"Thank you. Thank you, God, and thank you to the Grammys."

Bad Bunny is set to perform the Super Bowl Halftime Show next weekend, and Gloria Estefan is convinced that he will "kill it" when he takes to the stage.

Gloria, 68 - who performed during the Halftime Shows in 1992 and 1999 - told E! News: "In those minutes, he's gonna have the ability to impact the world, because it's billions of people watching, which kind of makes it kind of nerve-wracking."

Despite this, Gloria is convinced that the rapper will wow the worldwide audience with his talent.

She said: "He's gonna kill it, I'm sure."
