Wairarapa farmers' fears have been realised with Mycoplasma Bovis now found in the region

MPI has confirmed the cattle disease has been found on a property near Masterton.

Federated Farmers Wairarapa president William Beetham says local farmers had already been looking into prevention and supporting those affected.

He says farmers were talking about what to do well before it reached the region.

The new property brings the total number of infected properties nationwide to 36.
