The double Olympic champion has fallen short of reclaiming the New Zealand men's single sculls seat from Robbie Manson after an extended trial.
But Drysdale says he still hopes to compete at the worlds and plans to talk to selectors this week to see what his options are.
He says he will put his hand up for selection and if he can strengthen another boat.
Rowing New Zealand's expected to confirm at the end of the week what crews are going to the world championships and what crews they want to take another look at.
