Beauden Barrett, Richie Mo'unga and Damian McKenzie have been named in the end of year tour squad with Cameron part of the 19 strong group that will compete against Japan in the first week of November.
All Blacks selector Grant Fox says Cameron has been on their radar for a while now.
He says his form is good and he does the core job of a first five eight well.
Dane Coles, Brodie Retallick, Joe Moody, Nepo Laulala and Liam Squire are all back in the main 32 strong squad following injuries, while there is one new face in Auckland flanker Dalton Papali'i.
Matt Todd will also be available for the tests against Australia, England and Ireland after being released by his Japanese club side.
