A Christchurch software company in dire straits has been picked up by a US turnaround giant

SLI Systems was listed in the New Zealand stock market in 2013, and sells search tools for e-commerce websites.
A string of disappointing results saw the company's value slump the following year.
SLI says it received a Takeover Notice from Texas-based ESW Holdings, which valued the company at 40 million dollars.
ESW bills itself as a turnaround specialist - buying and strengthening ailing software companies.
