Silver Ferns coach Noeline Taurua has opened the door to a possible leftfield selection in her squad for January's Quad Series in England

Silver Ferns coach Noeline Taurua has opened the door to a possible leftfield selection in her squad for January's Quad Series in England

Taurua has named 25 players to take part in a Summer training camp next early next month before deciding on 12 to head to the UK.

30 year old defender Erena Mikaere is a notable newcomer having worked with Taurua at the Magic and also the Sunshine Coast Lightning.

She says she knows she's a hard worker and is fit, standing around one metre 93 and she gives them another option in the position.

All six franchise coaches have also been invited to take some part in the Silver Ferns camp.
