Melani Nanai shifts to fullback from the right wing, allowing youngster Caleb Clarke to start in the 14 jumper.
Coach Leon Macdonald says Nanai was one of their best in the loss to the Crusaders and Clarke deserves his chance.
He says Clarke's form was dynamic in pre-season and was unlucky to miss out in round one.
Michael Collins misses the 23 as a result.
There's a change in midfield, with Ma'a Nonu left out of the 23 and Sonny Bill Williams starting inside TJ Faiane who gets the nod at centre.
