Malcolm Rewa's lawyer says he tried his best to do his job
22 February 2019
Rewa was today found guilty of the 1992 murder of Susan Burdett in her Auckland home.
Rewa maintains he didn't do it - and is concerned the jury came to a decision too quickly.
His lawyer, Paul Chambers, says he believed his client at every turn and is disappointed in the ruling.
He says if Rewa told him that he'd killed Burdett- he would never have represented him.
Chambers is questioning his own performance, and asking if he did all he could.
He says he's human and makes mistakes.
