Hockey New Zealand and Sir Owen Glenn appear to have reached a stalemate
26 February 2019
Glenn's frozen his $1 million of funding across two years for the Black Sticks women's programme after Mark Hager resigned as coach.
He's demanding more transparency around the heavily-redacted independent review.
Discussions continue, but Hockey New Zealand chairman Mike Bignell says they have no beef with Glenn.\
Bignell says they recognise Sir Owen's been a long-term supporter of hockey, the players are truly appreciative and they hope it will continue.
Glenn wants Hager's removal to undergo further investigation, and the players association influence to face scrutiny.
The taxpayer will invest 1.45 million in the women's elite programme this year via High Performance Sport New Zealand, who have yet to comment on the review.
