The Mainland Tactix have been beaten 70-52 by the Southern Steel in Invercargill

Coach Marianne Delaney-Hoshek says they struggled with consistency at both ends.

She says they're improving in some areas but others are letting them down in games.

Delaney-Hoshek says it was difficult for hr Canterbury-based side to go out there two days after the mosque terror attacks in Christchurch.

The Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic have beaten the Northern Mystics 42-34 on Auckland's North Shore.
