The two-time men's pair Olympic gold medalist has been named in a 14-strong men's sweep oar squad for 2019, which also features Mahe Drysdale.
While it's a boat New Zealand finished last in at last year's world champs, Bond wants to have a crack at winning the country's second ever Olympic gold in the discipline.
He says the eight is the holy grail of success but it's success they haven't had recently.
It's the first squad named since some high profile departures from the Rowing NZ set up.
CEO Simon Peterson says they had to re-look at things after a disappointing 2018.
He says they have to keep developing otherwise they'll get left behind.
