It's still unclear what exactly caused an Air New Zealand plane to turn around in Christchurch

It's still unclear what exactly caused an Air New Zealand plane to turn around in Christchurch

Pilots believe one of the wheels on the Dunedin-bound flight struck something as it took off last night.

It did a U-turn and landed safely at 8.

Engineers are inspecting the plane today - but the airline says it's not yet commenting on the incident.

The affected passengers were offered accommodation and are due to be sent away on other flights today.
