Police cars and armed officers have reportedly swooped around a driver in a township south of Auckland, dramatically arresting the male driver

A witness says he saw the scene unfold in Waiau Pa about 2.30, on Clarks Beach Rd.

He says all of a sudden about half a dozen police cars came from all angles and surrounded the car.

The witness says they arrested a man and it was quite dramatic - as some of the cops had rifles.
