44-year-old Philip Neville Arps appeared via video link in the Christchurch District Court today.
The first charge was for sharing raw video of the livestream of the attack.
Reporter Amber Allott in court says the second charge was for planning to distribute the same footage, but modified to look like a first-person shooter videogame.
She says Arps's comments on the footage were read out in court - he called it "awesome" and expressed no empathy for the victims.
