Hopes of peace of mind for the community of Otara

Hopes of peace of mind for the community of Otara

Auckland mayor Phil Goff will speak at a community meeting next Saturday, as fears mount over a retaliation for the shooting of a gang leader.

Killer Beez president Josh Masters was shot outside a Harley Davidson dealership last month.

A rival Tribesmen gang member, Akustino Tae, has been charged with attempted murder.

Otara Business Association manager Rana Judge says it's important Goff takes the time to address the shooting that's caused a lot of unease within the community.

He says when something like this happens, people are always looking to voices of authority for reassurance.
