Development's underway on new regulatory framework for licensed medicinal cannabis products in this country, which will be in place by the end of the year.

Dr Marta Rychert says people have been using cannabis, both legally and illegally, for medicinal purposes for decades, but little is known about how they use it.

She says we don't know how - or for what purpose - people are using it.
