320-million-dollars over four years has been allocated to a programme - the largest single investment ever made to combat the issue.
Under-Secretary to the Minister of Justice, Jan Logie says there's no one magical solution.
She says it's going to take sustained, hard work - but they're up for it.
The plan covers five key areas and will include more support services, major campaigns aimed at stopping violence, and changes to court processes to reduce ongoing victim trauma.
Today's announcement comes as part of the Government's Wellbeing Budget, to be unveiled in full on May 30.
