21 May 2019
Raurangi Marino was 16 when he attacked the youngster - who was asleep in a caravan with her younger brother in December 2011.
Marino was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but would now be released after serving just 7.
In March last year, Marino - who's the son of a Mongrel Mob member - was assessed as having a high risk of violent offending - and a moderate to high risk of sexual offending.
The Parole Board's since ruled it's satisfied with his progress -- and granted his release.
Marino's release comes with a list of 16 conditions, one which is going to a monitoring hearing in February next year.
