Problem-solving in the horticultural industry is the aim of a new multi-million dollar regional research institute

PlantTech - backed by a 9.4 million dollar investment from MBIE and shareholders - will look to solve challenges in the horticulture sector.

CEO Mark Begbie says they will be looking to answer questions which solve problems.

It means producing new capabilities from science and research which provide benefits or solutions.
