New Zealand have been beaten 5-4 on penalties after the round of 16 match finished at 1-all at full time and then again at extra time.
The shoot-out started well with New Zealand goal keeper Michael Woud saving his first three attempts, only for the third to retaken with the referee judging he had advanced off his line to soon.
The sides then traded penalties, until the seventh attempt by Matthew Conroy was saved and New Zealand was defeated.
