Gun Control NZ welcoming Government's buy-back of prohibited weapons

There's more than 200 million dollars in the buy-back and amnesty fund - to compensate licensed owners up to 95 percent of their firearm's base price.

The exact amount an owner will get, will reflect their firearm's brand, make and model, base price and condition.

Co-founder Philippa Yasbek says it's a step in the right direction.

She says its important to get these weapon out of the community and destroyed, and they want it to succeed.
