A car has taken an icy plunge into a lake in Christchurch's Westlake Reserve

A car has taken an icy plunge into a lake in Christchurch's Westlake Reserve

Police say two people were rescued, after the car was driven into the lake and became fully submerged about 8.15 this morning.

Two people died in a car accident in the same lake in September 2017.

Avneel Ram had been teaching wife Sheetal to drive when she accelerated into the lake.
