Wellington Police want help in identifying a man who robbed a taxi driver at knife point

Wellington Police want help in identifying a man who robbed a taxi driver at knife point

The driver picked up the man outside Westfield's Queensgate Mall in Lower Hutt just before three in the morning last Friday.

After driving for a couple of kilometres the passenger pulled out a knife and demanded money.

A scuffle broke out between the two and the driver managed to escape with a cut to his hand and facial injuries.

Police say the offender was wearing a black cap and a dark-coloured jacket with light-coloured trousers.
