The hero of Japan's 2011 women's World Cup title victory has been responsible for the downfall at the 2019 tournament

Saki Kumagai has handled the ball in the box to give up a late penalty against the Netherlands to lose 2-1 in the round of 16.

Kumagai scored the winner in the penalty shootout in the 2011 final against the United States.

For the Dutch and double-goal scorer Lieke Martens it's the first time they have reached the final eight.



The Netherlands face Italy in the quarter-finals.
