Fuel price hikes are expected to cost the average motorist an extra 45 dollars a year

The AA says that's based on a medium sized car travelling 14 thousand kilometres in 12 months.
An increase of nearly four percent will be added to the fuel levy from today.
AA spokesman Mark Stockdale says the increase will mean around half the price of petrol is now tax.
