Businesses put on notice for tattoo policies after woman turned away from Havelock North bar for moko
Businesses are being put on notice for their tattoo policies, after a woman was turned away from a Havelock North bar for her moko
2 July 2019
A security guard outside Diva Bistro and Bar turned away Atawhai Tuki for her traditional tattoo, because the business has a ban on facial tattoos.
But she says her moko kauae is more than a tattoo.
The bar's owner has apologised and acknowledged turning Tuki away was an error.
