A Howick teacher has been censured by the Teaching Council after drinking alcohol at school

A Howick teacher has been censured by the Teaching Council after drinking alcohol at school

Toni Osborne initially told her principal the smell on her breath was just mouthwash.

However, the next day she admitted to bringing alcohol to school and consuming it there.

    Osborne resigned the following day.

The Complaints Assessment Committee charged her with serious misconduct and ruled she had brought the profession into disrepute.

Osborne has to provide the Teaching Council with updates on her rehabilitation every three months for one year, and must disclose the decision to employers for two years.
