NRL head of football Graham Annesley says criticism of his whistleblowers has become excessive

NRL head of football Graham Annesley says criticism of his whistleblowers has become excessive

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

That's despite admitting the Wests Tigers were hindered by an incorrect call in their loss to the Eels.

Annesley feels the referees have been unfairly tarnished after a weekend of controversial decisions and a high penalty count in State of Origin three.

He says the referees had largely made the correct calls during round 17, except for one in the Eels' win, in which Blake Ferguson brushed the sideline as he passed the ball but went undetected.
