Shane Lowry has emerged out of the shadows as both the fans and odds on favourite to hoist the Claret Jug at the British golf Open in Northern Ireland

The Irishman has a four-shot lead over Englishman Tommy Fleetwood after carding a Royal Portrush course record of eight-under par 63, to be at 16-under after three rounds.
Local Rory McIlroy had the majority of the fans backing him pre tournament, and Lowry says he felt like he could head in under the radar which was nice.
Kiwi Ryan Fox is tied for 43rd at even par.
