    An envelope containing white powder, which was sent to the Tauranga City Council, is being examined by scientists

    An envelope containing white powder, which was sent to the Tauranga City Council, is being examined by scientists


    Mail room staff called emergency services when the envelope was discovered on Friday.

    Fire crews decontaminated the scene, and the item has been sent to ESR for forensic tests.

    The incident shut down part of Tauranga's CBD.
