Stock markets are reacting to fears of a global recession

Our market fell 1.15 per cent on opening this morning - after Wall Street tumbled three percent.

Harbour Asset Management's Shane Solly says Wall Street's sharp decline will take some confidence out of the local market.

He says the situation's volatile and there's a degree of uncertainty over how trade negotiations are going to unwind.
