The Children's Commissioner says schools need a circuit breaker, in order to stop bullying
2 September 2019
A report by the Chief Ombudsman found an Auckland school failed to do anything about an autistic boy being bullied.
Judge Andrew Becroft says it's a very serious problem, and needs a centralised approach to stop it.
He says it's not just school yard banter, it's persistent and damaging pack mentality bullying that is very disturbing and needs to stop.
Becroft says New Zealand has the most reported cases of bullying in the world.
