The man who murdered Napier schoolgirl Teresa Cormack and avoided arrest for more than 15 years is dying from a brain tumour in prison

Jules Mikus was sentenced to life in prison and preventive detention in October 2002.
Six-year-old Teresa's body was found face down in a shallow grave near Napier eight days after she disappeared in June 1987.
A jury also found Mikus guilty of raping, sexually violating, and detaining the girl against her will.
Mikus is being treated in a medical unit at Rimutaka Prison.
