Thieves with at least two vehicles broke into the palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill, and removed the toilet early Saturday morning
Detective Inspector Jess Milne says due to the toilet being plumbed in to the building, the theft has caused significant damage and flooding.
Police have arrested a 66-year-old man in connection with the theft, but have not yet recovered the artwork.
