The report, called I'm Still Here, showed Kiwis with advanced breast cancer get less treatment and die twice as fast as people overseas.
They've issued an update today on Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
Breast Cancer Foundation research manager Adele Gautier says doctors, who were originally pretty shocked, have started looking further into the data.
She says in places like Auckland and Waikato, they're making an effort to understand why patients aren't having treatment.
