A higher police presence in Foxton, as officers search for a person involved in a shooting

One person is in a critical condition after the firearms incident on Main Street yesterday.

Parts of the town were cordoned off and schools went into lockdown while police searched for the offender.

Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Sheridan says they believe they've found the firearm involved.

He says anyone with information should call 111 immediately.
