Homes are "under threat" from rising water in the coastal Hawke's Bay settlement of Haumoana

District councillor Ann Redstone says the Tukituki River mouth "may have blocked" and homes at the start of Haumoana Road could be at risk.
MetService has issued a warning of heavy rain until 5 o'clock this afternoon.
It's warned streams and rivers could rise rapidly, and surface flooding and slips are possible.
